reamers/chambering

You can only take brass back so far at the web, I know some people tried the " body" thing with PRC dies and it still didn't fix it.
Opening up the back like Alex did fixed the problem. Its the same issue with a 20 VT if you dont open up the base if you use Lapua brass.
Correct, it didn't work on the PRC's but it can work on some of the cases.

How many times can a reamer be used until it becomes out of spec?
No hard and fast number there. Think of it as a drill bit, it will have many uses if it's taken care of. Preboring, flush systems, speed, feed etc can all have impacts on reamer life.

Understandable!

Depends. If a guy taper bores or straight bores the chamber to within .015 or so from the final shoulder dia and within .050 of the finished chamber length, uses high-quality cutting lube, a finish reamer should last 150 chambers or more.

On the other hand, if the guy just goes straight in with the reamer only, figure dimensions start to change from 6-9 chambers out, maybe.

Of course, there is a big difference between reamer makers in heat treat, grind etc, and this is a huge can of worms.

How many actually have the skill to pull an audit on a gunsmith's work?

Finish reamers are only meant to cut .015 per side.
