I have been having problems with my Sig 2400 and I know several others that have as well. Would not range an elk at 1200 yards in good conditions a couple months ago, last week wouldn't range 4 different coyotes from 700- 1000 yards. Going to sell it and go back to the new Gunwerks 2500. Anyone else have problems or have compared the Sig to the new BR2500?

That's sucks I just lost my liaca 1600b last week and was gonna replace with the kilo. I love the liaca so looks like I'm getting another one of those.

did your sig ever range good ? have you talked to sig about this problem ? maybe they'll send you a new one .

I've been kind of thinking on one of these kilo 2400's , now this is the second thread I've read this . I think maybe I'll just stick to my G7BR2 , it ranges well .

I called them and described to them what it was doing and they said I could send it in and they would check it out but from what I described it was doing he didn't think anything was wrong with it. They seem to be much more sensitive to light. I had a gen 1 G7BR2 and a Swarovski, both were more consistently ranging animals and trees, etc. A buddy of mine has a Sig 2400 as well and has the same issues.

thanks for the info Chad ,I appreciate it . my G7BR2 is the gen 1 too .

I've been using the liaca 1600b and the geovids both have been amazing as far as ranging game at didstance. I was just think of trying the kilo for the applied program. I can load all that in my liaca but have not yet. Taking readings and using my app for the rest.

They have a good warranty on them. That's the first I heard anything like that about them I have a 2000 Sig and it works better than that. I can usually range every time to 900-1000 yards. and have ranged billboard signs to over 1700 yards. But I haven't seen any billboards under hunting conditions. I only wanted something that would range to 600-700 yards under hunting conditions, and got more than I need. Now I couldn't range a coyote at 700 but I would know how far he is within yards. All you need to do is range the ground by him. The circle in the 2000 is larger than it should be but it still gives a close reading for where I hunt, looking onto a mountain side. It would probably be tough in a flat area without trees or bushes handy to the target. Good luck with what you go with. Good luck hunting and be safe.

I was just reading on the Cabelas sight and the kilo2400 only claims to range deer and game to 700 to 900yds. Leica on the other hand reads game to what the range finder is. Example a 1600 reads to 1600 yards maybe more. To me the Liecas are near the best on the market why would people look else where It also said in the Cabelas ad that that 2400yds was on reflective objects. Not sure about others but I seldom see reflective game animals or objects near them when and where I hunt.

That's a lie out and out unless you looked at the wrong one. This is the Imfo. out of the Cabelas add, they only list one 2400ABS it cost $1499.99 will range reflective targets over 2 miles away, deer 1400 yards, and trees 1800 yards. The Kilo 2200 LRH will range the following 3400 yards reflective, 1300 yards for deer, 1600 yards for trees; And the cost is REG. $519.99 THEY are on sale now for $349.99 ANY QUESTIONS? Look it up for yourself, but put your glasses on first

My bad you are right Buck Buster. How evr the fact remains that the Lieca's will range deer at their claimed range not significantly less distance. When I buy a 2200 yd range finder I expect it to range deer to that range not road signs.
I bought a pair of Ziess RF bino's they are clear and range deer right out to their 1300yd advertised range. How ever readind the screen or read out is often a problem. This is an issue I never had with my Lieca RF but I wanted to upgrade to a bino set. I would have got the Geovids but at that time they had the range button on the left side of the bino. This was an issue for a right hand archer trying to range while holding their bow. The next year they moved the button to the right side and I could not afford to switch again but would if I could.
Just saw a huge add for Lieca RF's in my Safari Club magazine saying they have been making RF's for 25 years now. That is a lot of experience in a field and they don't quit improving it. Nothing against Sig I just think they need a few more years to fine tune their already good not great yet product.
My last statement is where I believe this thread stemmed from. Sig like a lot of the Bushnell and other RF's advertise on relective readings not natural readings like animals. This is kind of a decieving thing that we don't find out until we are in the field. The companies are not wrong though because it does state this claim in their owners manuals that none of read from cover to cover.

I agree and that's why I'm not happy about it, I don't expect a 2400 yard rangefinder to range everything at 2400 but when they can't get it done on an elk at 1200 in good conditions rested on a sandbag that is ridiculous. They are overrated and Definitely not the best choice for real hunting scenarios. I should be getting my gen 3 BR2500 next week and will test it against the Sig2400 in real hunting conditions and post the results. It definitely isn't my unit because my buddies does the same things.
