I am building my son a rifle. This project has been delayed a year or so. But at this time I am ready to go. I am looking for a rifle that is relatively light weight, low in recoil, but has decent energy at mid range distances. I think that the 6.5 Creedmoor fits that bill. Mainly deer and antelope rifle. The problem is that I have never shot a Creed. One of my employees has one in a target profile and has a lot of good things to say about it. The one negative is that he has some minor trouble with feeding from the factory box mag. His rifle is built on a Rem 700 action. This is the same action that I will be building on. Is this a typical problem with the Creed? Does anyone else have feeding problems with this round? For my son I want a very smooth feeding round for the possibility of follow up shots. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
