Powder for .280 ai

I am looking for a good starting powder and load for a .280 ai with 168 Berger veld hunting bullets? What primers?

I'm using Norma MRP powder and CCI BR2 primers in my 280 AI...so far MRP is giving acceptable accuracy and speed with all bullet weights (140-168).


Other good choices are IMR 7828ssc and Reloder 22.

I've had good luck with Ramshot Magnum and H4831SC with 150,160 and 168 grain bullets.

I used 4831 SC in my Kimber and it shot really well ,and IMR 4831 in my Cooper shot extremely well both rifles using 168 VLD 160 AB 140 AB . I beleive that the IMR was the hotter load better velocity .

58.5 4831sc Fed 210 was a really good load in my Kimber Montana

Powders that work w/ the heavies (175 & 180s) include: RL-19, RL-22, H4831SC, 7828SSC, H1000.
