I have a close friend and shooting buddy that had a mild stroke last year. Took a couple of months before he could maneuver around without a walker, and he couldn't drive. The big issue is eyesight, which varies daily. Some days were crystal clear, other days like he's shooting in a fog. It's getting better as time goes on. It has been about 8 months now and things are just returning to normal. It just takes time., You can't rush it. Just be patient.

I try to avoid mentioning anything firearms related when seeing Doctors. Unless they would have something in their office that would lead me to believe they shoot. And I go to the VA for treatment. I just don't trust them that well.
Sorry to hear that and we are praying for you to keep getting better as time goes on. You will need to do a lot of PT and practice. I had a spinal cord operation about 7-8 years ago and was also paralyzed on my left side after the operation. Had another operation and regained use of my left side, but needed to learn to walk all over again. I am still to this day in 24/7 sever pain and being treated every month. Just need to keep on going and not give up or stop. I don't know how many years I have left and really declined in motion and what I can do, but I still have my mind of a 20 year old for ambition, but can't remember what i ate for breakfast or even if I ate. We continue to purchase components to build rifles and reload. Probably have another 20-30 years of components in stock. I know that we will never run out of components to shoot until I pass.

PT is something that YOU HAVE TO DO!!! You don't need someone to show you the exercises and sit and watch you. PT only works if you want to get better and will do the PT that you are told to do. Your recovery is all up to you and not someone that is charging the ins $100.00 per hour.
