Hello,
Interesting documentary on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service in the United States) a few nights ago. This guy filmed a pack of Wolves in Northern Alberta (Buffalo National Park, I think) while the wolves tracked and hunted a Buffalo herd.
A massive Alpha male wolf pulled down a medium size buffalo in the snow all by itself. That wolf grabbed the back leg and stopped that buffalo from pulling away. Very powerful animal.
And they also showed the "mature" wolves in the pack swimming a large expanse of rough water. All of this after not eating for a few weeks.
So them hunting deer and elk in the lower 48 states must be a walk in the park compared to buffalo.
