Interesting that I would run across this thread. Was just looking at Ruger website. Ruger lists a Hawkeye African sold by Lipsey's that has cross bolt scope mounts machined into the receiver with iron sights. Was looking at a 280 A.I. with 1:8.5 twist and 24 inch barrel. Seem like a well thought out set-up for quick detach rings with Iron sights back-up. Since it was the African model one would assume the magazine would be long enough for those 7mm long, high B.C. bullets.
