NRA In Serious Trouble?

I agree like Greyfox we need to be cautious about what we hear or percieve. These days its way too easy to be decieved by misinformation. True, the NRA isnt always on the right side but, they are always there! Somehow we need to fix what the NRA percieves our membership wants and what we actually want. I dont believe total abandonment of the largest most effective gun lobbyist in the USA will help, by any means. What will help is keeping the fire fueled and in more than one group, not just the NRA! There is NO denying the influence and swiftness of the NRA and the lack of even a close competitor. We must still keep the NRA strong while nudging the newer groups into the fray. All these big lobbyists go astray once and a while, its par for the course, we just cant lay down and let that kind of power and support get its teeth kicked in because at the end if the day, its all we got, for now.
 
Like to add that if you've never attended a local Friends of NRA dinner/auction, your not interested in defending your freedom anyway, or having a great time with your family and friends! I was a couch defender until a Mexican/American gentleman talked me into going. Now i hit as many as i can each year. So many like minded Americans to meet and stuff to win. Couch defenders wake up, it takes more than an annual membership in one organization to defend our freedom from the homefront. My .02
 
the nra has become PART OF THE PROBLEM.
THEIR FUND RAISING IS MOSTLY COMMERCIAL COMPANIES WITH VERY LITTLE OF THE MONEY ACTUALLY GOING TO THE NRA.
1) the nra recommended against going forward to the supreme court with the heller case! jumped on the band wagon after the fact.
2) when oboma tried to back door limiting the movement of primers thru osha it was private parties then stopped the process, again the nra was late to the party but claimed success.
they "negociated" away our rights to full size magazines...luckily that ban had a sunset clause.
they appear to be like current politicians...money and power.. i have no use for them
 
Respectfully, then what gun rights organization do you support?

I support my gun rights by acting with a view that America is not only the land of opportunity but also, the land of responsibility. Other than directly addressing my state's reps about the senselessness of our current magazine restrictions or other, I don't belong to any political or pac group whatsoever. If I have a neighbor or friend that is going thru tough times with their family, I speak out openly about the thought of putting away the guns just for a bit. I openly teach young men that the gun is not the way to solve the problem of the day... a story carried out too often. And like many, I'd like our justice to reflect this responsibility. These views may seem weak or unrealistic when looking at the current state of political power grabbing but I think we will never right our ship until our political parties stop demonizing each other and actually work to do what we pay them for. Belonging to any group will not change that, IMO.
 
socialists are demons. read their manifestos. And there is one reason they want to disarm people.....so that they are the only ones with arms. The party of 70 million aborted babies doesn't care one bit about "the children" or "safety".

I try to support as many groups as possible whether they do a little good or a lot to save the second amendment what I don't get is why nobody wants to figure out why these individuals doing the shootings want to hurt innocent people is it because of the media face book or our dishonest political members cuz when I went to school nearly every one had some kind of firearm in there vehicles I had teachers bring guns to class to show everyone no one ever thought about shooting up the school cuz people had respect back then if you had a problem with someone you would call them out and the better man won then you went about your business society is just f up anymore and kids aren't held accountable for anything any more it's sad just my 2 cents

vs the idea that morality (the determination of Right and Wrong) is dictated by the State (Stalin called it "political correctness") and therefore government may do anything so long as it "benefits" the cultural progression toward humanistic "utopia"

these are just a few quick examples of original text which demonstrates the incompatibility and absolute positions of both our Constitutional Republic, and the International Socialism which the DNC has expoused.
 
What's interesting is that in the "dark days of Obama", I bought more firearms, more easily than ever in my lifetime. It was also a period of record energy production and a time when my savings recovered from the socialized losses of our beloved private sector. My point is, what reality are we living and it is really reality or fear? IMO, the NRA fails due to acting out of fear. Not for me, thanks.
I don't think a single point in this statement is true. Please explain each of them for all here.
 
I tried to tell yall for the longest time now that the NRA was a bunch of Fudds who don't fully support the 2A... But everyone called me a hypocrite and other names, simply because they didn't want to believe it. But now more truth is being shown, and I'm being proven right. The vindication is only bittersweet.

Support the GOA and the FPC.
 
Most if not All Animosity towards the NRA and any "Legislation" regarding Gun Control can be tied to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Leading up to this Massive curling of our Rights Under the Constitution,,, the Population was led to believe Lee Harvey Oswald's involvement with the Kennedy Assassination stemmed from his Purchase of a Rifle through the Mail. Most feel the Gun Control Act must be overturned due to the Public being Misled into believing it would have stopped Oswald. We all know nothing can be further from the truth.

Prior to that son... Try the National Firarms Act (NFA) of 1934... That's when the ******** started with the NRA supporting and helping write unconstitutional anti-gun legislation, because of Bonnie & Clyde, Prohibition, and Al Capone.

IMO, concerning the NRA, we need to be cautious about throwing the "baby out with the bath water". While I don't necessarily agree with all the decisions that have been made by the NRA, they have accomplished a whole lot of good over many years. You have to ask yourself, "Who else can take their place? Some short term, gutless politician? Another smaller gunrights group? I would no more dissociate myself from NRA then I would have from the United States during the dark days of Carter, Clinton, or Obama. Leadership and policies can be chaged. Without the NRA we might eventually look like many of the other "gunless" society's across the globe. We abandon the NRA at our own peril. It continues to be one of the most powerful lobby organizations in the world. If anyone thinks that one of the smaller gun rights groups could build the necessary capacity and scale in time to fight the big money opponents of the 2nd Amendment......your are dreaming!!! The NRA is under a major attack! We need to fight, to fix, and support the NRA, not abandon it. I'm near 70 years old and have had a very intense and satisfying, hunting and shooting experience throughout my lifetime. I truly believe that I can thank the NRA for that. I'd like my kids and grandkids to have a similar experience. One mans opinion.
