Nosler m48 mountain carbon rifle

I have a Nosler Trophy Hunter in 280ai, it shoots great. It is my go to for getting in the mountains. The magazine is short, couldn't shoot vlds so I shoot berger classic hunters.
The funny thing is it won't shoot nosler bullets very well

That's what I'm looking at good hunting rifle. Carried a 13 pound rifle for the last 3 years. Looking for something alot lighter and easier to pack.

That's good to know thanks for the info. I agree the b&c stocks have a weird feel to them. I think on the mountain carbon it's a custom manners stock. That's weird on the action length. You would think they'd make the mag box longer if the action itself is that long. How smooth is the action? So chances are berger 215's might not work very well, speed wise at least.
The bolt to action fit is pretty generous, not sloppy but its not like a defiance or any custom action. The bolt slides smooth enough, but has significant wiggle room. Timney is a narrow trigger shoe, breaks just like any other timney I have.
The placement of the bolt stop and how the trigger is designed limits the mag length, without some serious machine work to move the side bolt stop I dont see a way to make it longer.
I like the manners stock on mine, much better stock than the b&c

That's great thanks for the info. Making it hard not to pull the credit card ot and order it.

I live here in SW Colorado . We have taken elk with every thing from the 6.5's to the 338's. We strictly use the Barnes mono bullets. Our cal of choice is the 6.5. It takes elk as cleanly as any of the larger cal's. Reasonable recoil & flat trajectory. Over all the years the vast majority of elk we have taken has been under 200yds. Many taken at 60 to 150yds. The most important thing I see needed is a super tough bullet that can penetrate heavy bone & thick muscle from any angle, accurately placed.

I may have added a few accessories but I was looking to see if anyone had a pet load yet.

Bringing up this thread from nearly a year ago. Any other opinions on this rifle. Looking to purchase a 6mm Creedmoor they have on sale in this model for my girls. Haven't seen much talk on it other than the few paid for video clips on YouTube

thanks
