So I have been fortunate enough to be able to move to Coeur d'Alene recently and am just itching to get in the mountains. It has been a bit of an overwhelming experience as I have never spent a great deal of time in this area. It seems the places closer to town are extremely busy, as I expected but I was wondering if anyone was willing to offer some info on where to find some wolves and where a good place to shoot where I won't have to worry about crowds. Any info is greatly appreciated.

First of all welcome to" The Gem State". Good places to go shoot and wolf hunt would be the Coeur d'alene river area or the St. Joe river area lots of spots to shoot and game to boot with fair amount of wolves. Good luck keep us posted.

Hi Skookum and welcome. I lived in Post Falls for 27 years and currently live in the Rathdrum area. I am in the woods a lot as a forestry consultant. The Joe is a good spot for wolves (if there is such a thing as a good spot for wolves) and that would include the N. Fork. There are still wolves in the Cd'A drainage too, but not as many as a few years ago. I have seen them in Marble creek, off of the Joe. Good luck in thinning them......Rich
