New to 300 RUM

Im hooked-- loved it, not near as much recoil as i was expecting-- used my suppressor as well-- BUT-- my labradar wouldn't work with my portable battery today-- I got 2 shots recorded and it wouldn't turn back on šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

At 85.5gr h1000 with 215 hybrids I clocked 2900fps

With the 215's i ran from 85.5 up to 89.5 with no pressure signs-- ill have to shorten the rounds just a bit, at 3.69" they wanted to hang up just a bit in the factory mag.
Printed a .55" group for the 88.5gr and .712" for the 89.5gr --- I'll probably try again with 1x fired brass and see how it goes.
With the 230s I ran from 85 to 88gr and again, no pressure signs - no vel numbers on the 230s though---- 85gr got me a .57" group, and 88 grains showed .71" with a pulled shot--- I'll probably try them both again with a working chrono and 1x fired brass to see how it goes.

Thanks for the guidance in the right direction.

I'm probably going to try the 182 hht also as I like to have both cup/core and mono options

If the 215 Bergers shoot well. Look at the 214Hammer Hunter as well. I have a pretty good one at 91gr N570. Need to chrono, but thinking it will be a little faster than my Berger load.

Best group @100y so far on first range trip-- 3 shots starting from cold bore with less than 1 min between shots to replicate a possible hunting scenario

VERY NICE. If you change the stock, I might be interested.
Good for you, they are addicting.
I have 5 total- 3 are 300 and 2 are 7mm.
I think it's the RUM.šŸ˜

I killed ALOT of big game, a loooooong way, with a jlock gun before I learned that it wasn't cool to have a j lock.
If it works good, don't sweat it.

I have a few rums. I'm shootin 215s in only one of them. I will say, in mine, that there is another node above where you are.
With h1000, and soft as warm butter Hornady brass, it's strollin along at 3200.
Im up to 6 firings on the brass too.
Next step will be to re-work up with adg and see how it does.

Welcome to the club.
