new scope

need advise i have a remington 700 lss in 300 rum with a muzzle brake on it.i heard somewere a brake is hard on a scope?? right now i have a VX111 3.5-10-40 on it. i was thinking along the line of a 4-14-40. any advice would be very helpful thanks Jim

If that vxIII has a gold circle on it then it has an unlimited lifetime warranty that goes with it regardless of who the original owner is. I say run it till she breaks. (If you don't use it for a baseball bat it should be fine. Brake or not.)

Upgrade in power may be nice or it may be unneeded. Depends on weather you are shootong rockchucks at 1000 yards or deer at 600.
