New Rifles: The Good, the bad, the ugly

I just came home from the range. I had almost forgotten how much I love shooting my Sauer 100 30-06. Hitting the 2" orange dot at 200 was just plumb easy...and I had 4 cups of coffee this morning!

One of the recent posters to this thread mentioned that the trigger is always a major consideration in any new rifle purchase. The Sauer adjustable trigger is as good or better than any trigger I have ever felt on a hunting rifle and that includes aftermarket triggers. The range of adjustment is much lighter than what Sauer claims.

I don't want a 6 ounce trigger on any of my hunting rifles. 1.5 lbs is light enough and I can shoot well with that. I want a light, clean breaking trigger with no creep and no overtravel. Sauer provides that out of the box.

Anyway, she is ready to slay some more deer...soon, very soon.
