New Rifle

Shot this late this afternoon at 100 yards! Absolutely no wind. This rifle was made by Mark Pharr owner of tumbleweed custom rifles! 257 Wby. Terminus Kratos light action, proof 24" barrel, McMillan stock, and Trigger Tech trigger. Mark shot it once to check function and I shot it 3 times! shot no.1 was on the sighter target. Shot no. 2&3 at the 3/4" by 3/4" black tape. Not bad for a new barrel with only 4 shots down it. Also it's the first and only load i have tried! Shows good promise I'm thinking 66 grains IMR 4831 with 98 stone hammers. Tribb More pictures

Thanks Bean. It's great to be able to shoot in the back yard. But that's rural Florida. I love it! I'm thinking of using h4831& 7828ssc next . Then start working on shooting longer.

Those will work but are gonna be to slow, H4350,H380,W760, BigGame, RL16/17 is where you'll need to be with that pill

Looks like load development is done to me. Load up 100, and watch for it to break in and reassess at that time.

My 22GT shoots the same load now, that it did at shots 4/5/6 from the barrel. It gained 80fps amd has about 600 down the barrel now.

Which barrel contour did you go with to get that weight with the terminus? I see its a proof, is it the regular contour or the lighter one?

Thanks Bean . Haven't chronographed it yet. Got lots of h4350 & 1 of h380 & can get big game . It will be interesting to see where it goes .
