I don't know if it helps, but here are my notes regarding Barne's bullets from speaking with their tech support over the past several years.

3,8 is perfect. I am feeding from a BDL box. CIP length would be better but I don't have length in the magazine box or the throat for that.

I am giving away velocity at 3.46 but close to 3,000 fps kills elk dead enough.
Oh yeah for sure, 3k is cookin for these things. I'm really excited to try them out. I am running 3.85 mags in mine, we'll see how they run seated that far out.
 
3.8 or 3.95? That only makes things worse.

Sorry if I misread that. I have gone digital.
3.85 is the max I can seat too for COAL based on my magazines (MDT CIP Length 300 PRC), but I am going to start at 3.8 and work jump back from there. I'm guessing 3.8 might already be making contact, though.
