I have a Remington 742 woods master that has run out of steam does anyone know approximately how much it would cost to have it fixed.

during hunting season I oiled and cleaned it every night and in the morning when I would pull the bolt back I would here this metal on metal screech and it started to jam.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Being a 742 Wood master tells me it's probably 30-40 years old and has been shot a lot. The only way to repair it, if the parts are still available, is to replace the receiver and bolt. For what that would cost, you could probably almost pay for a new rifle. Hang it over the fireplace and get you a new rifle. Sorry.
