The back story is:
My buddy bought the new PH3 in 7 PRC. The barrel was seasoned after only 12 rounds. But the rifle does not like Hornady factory ammo in 175Eldx or 180Eldm. Groups both about 1.75" at 100 yards. Does any have this experience and then they found what does work after reloading ?

Brian

had the same experience with Hornady ammo on a 6.5 prc and a 7 prc either reload and work up your own load or try another brand of ammo, have had good luck with H1000 with a 175gr ELD-X in the 7 prc

I'm looking for consistent 1/2 moa and better.
What is your load info if I may ask?

Brian

What's the speeds on the ELD-X? If it's slow and new production, it hasn't shot in 4 different 7's worth a hoot I've been a part of. The previous stuff that was close to 3k did in the same guns.

Can't speak to the match, but it's always shot decent in about everything I've seen.

Couple of things. Has he tried anything else in the gun? If not, try it as see. If that doesn't shoot, start with the basics (action screws torqued properly, everything's tight 2nd person shooting same conditions)

Next would be a deeper dive in to the barrel. Scope it or have Seekings look at it

The ammo is all new. The Eldm is doing 2780 and the eldx is2790

That is the only ammo we have tried. Three people has shot the new rifle with the two boxes of ammo. All same groups. Scope is a new MK5 Leupold. I did a box test before mounting it for him. Scope is good to go. I took the action out of stock a torqued the screws it at spec

I'd be tossing a proven scope at it before anything else.

Scope is good to go. I did the box test 3 times before mounting. It scored 100%.

My load with H1000 CCI 250 and 175gr ELD-X chronographs at 3000 out of a seekins PH2 with a 26" barrel

In your PH2, do the ELDX like jump? If so, how much?

Brian

PH3's have lots of moving parts. RE; changeable barrels. might check there or contact seekins, see what they say. they will stand by their rifles.
