Need a recipe for 6.5 PRC

I like it other than the muzzle Velocity, I'm looking to be around 3k fps
Using ADG brass will give you better velocity than Lapua (why I chose to use it with my short barrel) and you have a bit longer barrel. You'd probably see velocities just under 2900.

Remember, at the end of the day, a deer won't know if that bullet was initially moving 2800 or 3000 fps. All he'll know is if you hit him in the kill zone or not. Best way to guarantee that is an accurate load, IMO.

QUOTE="BrentM, post: 2586053, member: 61747"] Holy crap that's a pile of rl26. I run 55.5 and and on the warm side. 2815 in a 18" and 2915 in a 22".
I use 56.0 gr. RL26 with 156 Berger. ADG and Fed 210 match. 24 in. barrel. 2936 fps. Very low ES and SD. .400 grps. Could go little hotter but right on edge and very accurate. Stopped there

Yepper. 56 was about max. 55.5 was showing repeatedly very low sd and hella accurate with 153 and 156. I can't imagine stuffing 58 grains in there

Me either. Not in an ADG case. I'm pretty dang sure 57.0 grs. would be too hot in my rifle. My SD 3 ES 6. No BS. Ave. 2956 fps. I just looked at my notes . That's for 55.5 grains also! 56.0 was my max. Sorry.

This is the reason you never use someone else load data, always work up your own. Including Me!!!

I tried a bunch of powders. Ended up with 57.6 grains of H1000. The load that worked best on the 156 bergers was 55.0 grains of Retumbo.

I still end up with a little stiffness on the bolt lift once in a while with the 57.6 grains of H1000. But it groups well. Been shooting it out to over 800 yards lately and the groups seem to hold well.
