muzzle break question

Just was wondering has anyone opened up a muzzle break with a reamer of the same chambering of the rifle. WOuld this allow for a better release of gas, and would result in a better reduction of recoil? Have no idea if it would work, just got me wondering if it would allow the ports to work better with the increase of bore size at the muzzle.

I have tried exit holes of +.005" to .040" and could tell little if any difference with a rifle in standard or magnum caliber.

I would agree, General rule of thumb is 20 thou over bullet diameter and I have not seen or should I say felt any difference with a tighter fit.
