Anyone making these type boxes/inserts that don't cost an arm and a leg? Or a DIY method they can share? Looks like this company no longer exists. I found one brand called Condition 1, but their version is ~$600. Not saying it's not worth it, but I can't justify dropping that kind of cheese on a box. I have multiple Plano trunks that would be perfect if I could find inserts or something. It's not perfectly rectangular so I suspect trying to make my own would be sub par quality.

This is the condition 1 for reference.

I use a storage box that I keep my off road gear in that stays in the bed of the truck that is very similar to the video. Cost is around $22 from Home Depot. I've been using this for the past 6 years and found to be very durable.

You could purchase this or a similar one and have an insert put in it far less than the cost you mentioned. There are companies that will make inserts for anything or you could purchase a block of foam and make your own cutouts.

Any companies in particular that you know of that will make the custom foam?

MyCaseBuilder will do it

But honestly, the Condition 1 case with foam isn't a bad deal if you really want something that style. An empty case alone that size will be a few hundred.

I have a non gun case from Case Club that is nice
Case Club has options too

No experience with Cobra

And I have Nanuk cases, but haven't used any of their custom foam. The cases are decent though

I don't remember the name of the company I've used in the past, but they were either in N Carolina or S Carolina.

If it was Carolina Custom Foam, they closed. I used them a lot and really liked their offerings.
