Itching to try the 185 Jugs in the .308 for the first time. I never used MR2000 before and does anyone have any good results with that powder in the .308? Any loads you like to share, of course I'll work up. I know Varget is my go to powder, just thought that MR2000 will work nice with the heavies.

I only tried MR2000 in my 20" barreled 308 with 168SMK/Lapua brass combo. The result was terrific. The muzzle velocity is ~100 fps faster than what what I got from Varget and IMR 4064 (2650 vs 2550 fps). I also have a wide node spanning 1 gr of the charge (from 46.0-47.0 gr). Accuracy with this node was about one-hole in 100 yds. I am using 46.5 grain of charge, a mild load when I compare it with what others are doing but it serves my purpose well.

CFE-223 is also an excellent powder for the heavies. It's slower than Varget, so you should get a higher load density %. My go-to for nearly 7 years has been Varget in my .308 pushing Berger 210's and 215's.

I was looking at mr2000 when I was working up lads for my 308. Any word on temp sensitivity and es and sd?

Loaded up 3 round charges in .3 increments from 45 -47.2 grains in Lapua brass / Fed210M, will see results soon round robin style at 200

This is in my hunting rifle; I have a Tikka T3x in .308 with 22" barrel and I shoot 50.4 grains of 2000-MR under 168gr. Bergers in Norma brass for 2785 fps and no pressure signs. . .ES/SD are 11/5. I didn't get into pressure until I hit 52 grains and that was only slight primer flattening. I can hold consistent 1 3/4" groups at 200 yds. I shoot my rifle throughout the years and all over the Southeast (I live in N Central Florida) from 100 degree swamp days to below freezing N. Alabama farms and really haven't noticed any temp instability. . .but I'm also not shooting over 500 yds., so thats not saying much for the match shooting realm. I began my load work-up at 48.5 grains and bumped up in .3 grain increments up to 52 grains. 50.2 to 50.5 gave my best ES/SD, then I fine tuned with seating depth and slight changes in powder charge. I was a long time Varget lover, but the velocity advantage plus accuracy I received with the 2000-MR was a no brainer. I've since switched over several calibers to the 2000-MR.
