Model 70 LA 6.5x284 Norma?

I've been doing some thinking on this and am wondering if it would work or if I'm missing something.

The idea is use a 270, 30-06, etc and rebarrel it to 6.5x284 Norma. Then replace the magazine and follower with one from a 7mm Rem Mag or 300 WM.

Do you think this would work or would you still have feeding issues? Seems almost ideal with the short Model 70 magazine box.

Should work just fine. In fact, I bet the standard follower would work fine as well. I almost did this exact thing but ended up going with a 6.5-06AI on mine since I already had a couple hundred pieces of 06 brass.
