methods of dialing in an action?

Im interested to learn what methods eveyone out there uses to dial in there actions before they blue print? do you make a mandrel and turn between centers? do you ream the raceway and then use the reamer to dial indicate off? do you have a rod and bushings. tapered bushings like manson or straight bushings like PTG.

any other methods out there?

reason i ask is im going to do my first build soon and am looking at tooling.

I had PTG make me some tapered bushing and use one of their 1/2" ground rods.
