Thought I would share something we found at a small dinner in Poteau, OK.

As we were leaving, I spotted a small box by the front door. The box was full of toy soldiers with a sign that read:

"As you leave, please take a soldier home with you. Place it somewhere to remind you every DAY to pray for our men and women that have chosen to risk their all to keep us FREE!"

I have mine glued to a shelf above my loading bench. He he has a permanent home there.

I had a mentor that was from there, and moved back later in life. All gone but not forgotten.

I remember being told the WW2 kids gave up their toy soldiers, as they were lead, then melted for bullets ets.

For those that served Thank You.

Just to clarify!
Memorial Day is to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Veterans Day is to honor all who have served their country in the military.

A big difference in the two holidays.
