Made new Dominator scope mounts today (pic)

After watching Ernie's vids of his Dominators, I got the itch to play with mine a bit today. I never liked the scope mounts, so I made some new ones for my personal guns today.

What cartridge does your Dominator shoot?

I have two 7-08's, a 44 Mag, and a 375 Super Mag Dominator.
Back in 2004, I had a 7TCU, but rebarreled it to 204 Ruger using a Pac-Nor Super Match blank and later sold it.
Richard Neimer, ex-Detonics/Safari Arms pistolsmith put together a frame for it with a crispy 1.5 pound trigger pull. I should have kept that frame.

After seeing Bob Milek's article in G&A around '84/'85, I really wanted a Dominator. But making $3.15 an hour at the time.....it just wasn't going to happen.

I would like to get a 243 Dominator, but if that doesn't happen soon, I will probably rebarrel one of my 7-08's to 243 AI, or 6 Creed. I still have the tools I made in 2004 to pull the barrel.

That is a Nice Family of Dominator's!

Looks like yours will hang over the bolt shroud in the back.

I always found that it helped to cut a little clearance over the bolt shroud. The shrouds like to wiggle when open/closed and fired.

It's flush with the back with about a .015" clearance cut on the bottom.
