I figured I would provide a list of senators who voted to move forward with the background checks in the senate, which in effect avoided a filibuster against the bill. I encourage anyone who sees one of your state senators on the list to write them and make sure they understand how you feel about the bill. It's time for action folks!!!

Here's the link to the lists:

And both the senators of Idaho voted against it.............I really like the format of how the list goes and how they voted. It is really easy to compare the yeas and the nays. I was really surprised to see some of the senators that voted against it and I would venture to guess that there are a few senators next time around that are going to be nervous AS THEY SHOULD BE! Don't stop, keep on writing. I think Feinstein is getting tired of hearing from me.......

I'm about as conservative as it gets. Why do we care if psychopaths are put on a no gun list? And why do we care if we have background checks at any purchase? I don't believe in gun control but this bill isn't an instance where the gov is out stepping its bounds.

First, you say you don't believe in gun control?? this bill is gun control.

Second, do you think the kid with mental issues from Connecticut obtained the guns he used with legal process? What good will more back ground checks do for mentally challenged people that take someone else's guns like he did?

We already have back ground checks for purchase???

This Bill is indeed a bill where the Gov is out stepping it's bounds. It is a step to unarm law abiding citizens. It will do nothing to stop what has been going on. It is only being done to disarm us. Give an inch and they will take a mile.

It may not stop psychopaths but it will make a statement. If there are no guidelines for people to follow then they will lead a life with a lack of good values. Remember people are sheep. And we live in a society were people let their kids play games where they murder people but then in the same breath the parents don't offer guidance to their children. And once again if the gov doesn't enforce the laws they have in place it becomes even more of a mockery IE legalizing marijuana in some states.

I totally understand what you mean about give them an inch they take a mile. But the fact is rugged individualists are a dieing breed. People would assume be taken care of rather than they take care of their own issues. And sometime in the near future conservatives won't be able to repeal any stupid legislation.

So are you arguing with yourself? You just stated some of the real problems. But not one of them you listed are addressed in this bill.

Levin and Stabenow both voted yes. Levin is retiring, he's gotten all the graft he can so it's off to greener pastures, probably as a lobbyist and Stabenow is just an idiot. We call her 'Fat Debbie'

The 'Universal Background Check' won't work anyway because the current system don't work. Why implement something on something thats already broken..... To appease Obummer of course.

I'd like to see a giant vacuum suck all the professional politicians out of Washington and deposit them in a landfill.

I got an answer (form letter) from Obummer in responce to my letter to him. It was 99/44 100ths, pure BS. Especially the part about how he respects the Second Amendment. What a hypocrite.

I don't think the environmentalists will allow such a thing. It would pollute even the rankest landfill. Heck, even a sewage treatment pool is to nice for them.

I got the same reply today from Hussein. Your description of the letter is very kind.

There is probably no better example of Ben's warning then the deceptive bill that just got moved to the floor. Make no mistake. The liberals WANT NO GUNS and will chip away at our rightis one piece at a time for as long as it takes. On the surface this bill looks sensible enough, but it will open the door for a federal registry, even if they claim it won't. If the registration is targeted to criminal and crazies, who makes this decision? Does anyone actually think that with more guns then people in this country that a nut or criminal would go through legal channels to get a gun. The bill is laced with enticers that will attempt to lure gun owners into believing they got some
wins, like nationwide acceptance of carry permits. This is deceptive. What good is that if the states won't issue carry permits? Funding studies to examine violent behavior....are you kidding?. The shallow minded public might buy it, but it's a ruse. The Rhinos that betrayed us don't care about our rights, only their cowardly skins. We absolutely should let them know that and remember them on election day! IMHO.
