This is my latest Varmint Rifle - its a Howa 204 HB in a Boyds Prairie Hunter "Pepper" stock, wearing a 3-9x50 Nikon Prostaff. I only just got it recently and shot it for the first time on some of the local bunny population here in Australia.

All shooting was done using Rem Factory 32gn Factory ammo at 220m - 257m being the longest shot.

A great little outfit that doesn't cost a fortune and shoots very well. The rifle is all standard with nothing done other than the fitting of a Boyds too it.

100 yards through a small "window" in the brush...

Here's my first varmint rifle that I purchased over the summer with money from my first actual job. It's a Remington 700 ADL Varmint rifle with a 26" barrel chambered in .243 Winchester. Its bedded with Devcon steel and topped with Leupold rings and single piece base and a Leupold VX-III 6.5-20x40 with fine target dot. My Dad and I did all the work to it. I'm shooting 87gr Hornady VMAXs out of it at a consistent 3250 FPS. I have a range card for it from 150-700yds. It shoots exceptionally well and was worth every penny and every bit of hard work!

My picture? Sorry this was my first time posting a picture and wasn't sure I did it right.

Not sure if you did anything or not but now I can see your pic.

Wish you hadn't bedded that stock. Even an inexpensive laminate stock is better than the factory Tupperware stocks.

I had a 308 that started life just like your 243. So your rifle would drop right into the stock I have for sale:

I was originally going to buy a laminate thumbhole for it but the factory stock was surprizingly sturdy. It didn't flex even after grabbing the forearm and trying to twist it but it wouldn't budge a bit. Felt very solid so decided to stick with it and it held the bedding very well. I'm also not very interested in "tacticool" stocks and accessories. I almost replaced the synthetic stock just because I wasn't crazy about it at first but I'm starting to like it now.
