I just parked in ten degree pre-dawn light to start my two day adventure down in the Canyon. It will be warmer as I drop in elevation and as the sun rises.

I've never had goose bumps like the first time I approached the edge of the South Rim. That was 30 years ago. This was in October and I was awestruck at the raw beauty. We spent 7 days exploring the rim and surrounding area. My buddy had a bum knee so we did not venture down to the river. Saw a massive 7x7 bull within 10 yards of the edge of the rim. I need to back and hike to the bottom.
