Tried my new Leica 1200 and ranged deer first day at 400 yards, seemed ok. second day could not range hardly anything, even tried pine tree @ 50 yards and it would not range. Got home and ranged house @ 600 yards, Is it me, or are these tempormental

I have the 900 scan and it works in al weather all tempatures like a champ i can range deer out to 870 yards
no problem. mine is 2 years old and many hunts now

I've got the old, non-scan, 1200 and it works fine. Lots of rangefinders have trouble on live animals. I think part of the problem is that those darn animals won't stand square to give us a good bounce back. Try hitting a reflective surface next to the animal. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
