Has anybody taken the plunge and drilled holes in there carbon fiber stock to get good alignment? I've got a ag composite alpine hunter that I'm just not super comfortable behind and feel I need to add something to get a more consistent cheek weld. I'm not super fond of the idea of drilling holes in a $750 stock but I also am not fond of not being completely happy with it. Any insight or pics would be great. Thanks!

You can use double stick Velcro. I drilled mine and had the Velcro after thought. But it does work well. My eyes line up straight now and I'm way more comfortable and consistent. And my young girls can use it too. My 11yo got her first buck at 319 yds. My stock is an ag that I added flush cups and did the riser as a last modification.

I was thinking something like along those lines. Good job with your daughter!

I've gone a few different routes. One was pretty slick where my gunsmith drilled holes in stock vertically and bedded pillars. Made a riser set for it and put a stock pack on top.

I think the horizontal holes with the Kydex adjustable cheek pieces are just plain FUGLY lol, but are functional.

The easiest and most reversible is just to get a stock pack. Tac Ops (black one) and Triad Tactical (tan, my preference) are both nice. They come with stackable Velcro inserts that give you quite a bit of rise. I gained probably 1" of rise on my tan Triad Tactical stock pack. Can buy more Velcro inserts from them if needed. Do yourself a favor and try one of them first. Plus I like having a pocket for my ear plugs and suppressor paperwork.

My main concern about drilling the stock was I didn't want water soaking into the foam core from rain. I have yet to pull the cheek off and sleeve the holes and silicone or epoxy. Heck I may even just epoxy the holes closed and use Velcro. But alas. I'm waiting for my new gun to play around with. That stock is a montecarlo so I don't think I'll be using a kydex riser. I think it would look strange. The AG stock had straight sides so it was a no brainer. I had to cut out the back portion of the kydex to clear my side flush cup. I'm waiting for the new gun to see if I can use xtra low arc rings. Those on the rifle about are low rings.

The other brands suck, period. Triad is leaps and bounds better than anything else in this product category.
Very very true! The cheaper ones are just material and offer no real functionality other than a pocket or bullet holder. The Triad (my favorite) has a lot of padding on cheek and is very comfortable. I chose mine 100% for the cheek rise, but is nice to have a pocket in addition.
