Is it possible to shoot into outer space ?

30-378 Weatherby Magnum with a 180 gr spitzer going 3,250fps fired straight up, 18,000ft of elevation or not quite 3-1/2 miles up.

How come we were getting 3500 fps with a 200 gr 50 years ago and your only getting 3250 with a 180 today with a 30x378?

That not from an AR that what me using the moon as my long range target when I'm out shooting my 6.5CM. I'm I'm like sub MOA all day long.

I have seen a rifle shot into the air before but I never witnessed the bullet falling down again. Has anyone else noticed this ?

I can only guess the bullet must be in orbit with all the other space junk.

I have seen them come down when I was in Iraq.
Unfortunately it hit the guy next to me on the top of his shoulder about 1.5" to the right of his spine, traveled just under the skin and stopped at his belt.
So yes they do come down

LOL......Yes, I hear they are planning to use the 6.5CM as the next gen anti-sat weapon system.
