Ignored members quoting you?!

Don't think anyone one here ever experienced a real reprimand. A home with a hand dug cellar and a "Coal Bin" with hand picked coal from the Strippens. Had an old cast iron furnace that had to be hand shoveled fed several times a day to keep it burning. There was no thermostat.. The Coal Bin had a wooden front to keep the coal in. Had to put your hands on that wood frame and bend over. Also had to bring the belt which was used for the lesson. Didn't want to make too many trips to the Cellar!

Apparently none of y'all have had to cut your own switch and it shows.

I made so many trips to the willow tree at the west end of the slough by the time I learned to behave, it was a stump.
Had a few razor straps & switches across my backside. Wearing shorts in the summer was the worst. lol This was grandmas way,

I appreciate you bringing this up. There are likely those who, like myself, are not forum junkies and not so technical as to get the message. Speaking as a fella who has not yet gotten the boot, I post infrequently and try not to **** off the seasoned veterans of the forum, while genuinely seeking the knowledge such a group offers on questions properly framed (so as not to get ignored😎). As mentioned by another respondent, I too have experience e we other being ignored by my wife. Usually, the answer I would have gotten to my question would not have been effectual.

Speaking for myself only, I don't mind if someone disagrees with me, so long as they are not a total jerk about it, we all have an opinion, and are entitled to it.
What makes me push the ignore button is creepers.
Perverts, stockers, creepy posts, those get an immediate ignore click.
I don't do that to others, and sure as heck do not want it directed at me.
If someone wants to be like that, they should have instead joined a pornography forum.
Asking me for pics is an insta block.
If I wish to share a photo i will.
Asking me for any pics at all, i don't care what of, past experience has taught me soon escalates. These creepers will ask for a pic that isn't too bad, then they think okay that worked, so they ask for more, and its soon a PM asking for personal pics and info.
So before it goes there, and pic or personal info request gets them blocked.
It is very sad that it has to be that way, but some guys just cannot seem to control themselves.

Yeah, don't imagine a handle like "small lady" does a very good job filtering out creeps.

I've the bonus of having a generic description handle, and the personality that goes with being a sasquatch looking fisherman who makes a living hitting fish in the head with sticks. My Robert oberst "strong and pretty" shirts are sadly just ironic, (well maybe half true) maybe I should be self conscious nobody's ever creeped on me.

Whats an equal opportunity world coming to when nobody creeps on a middle aged slightly overweight man.... I'm telling you the back hair community is the most overlooked and outcast in society today....

Thats it. I'm starting a new blm, or bhlm if you will. "Back hair lives matter" we demand an equal amount of creepy dm action as young women get... gotta go make a catch slogan and a go fund me...

If I'm Interested in the topic of the thread I read everyone's response and then sometimes I chime in. Just because I still love talking about and discussing Guns /Rifles/ Scopes /Calibers and Hunts I sometimes ask a question for my own education in the thread, and some times I get no response to my question. The question is not meant to challenge anyone, just for me to learn more about the subject. When there is NO RESPONSE by anyone to my question, I realize I am being ignored. I assume my question is a stupid one, and no one wished to respond.

How can we let members know that they're ignored by you so that they don't waste their/our time?
My list grows frequently…

Cheers.
I don't have anyone on my IGGY button in here, but in the muzzleloading forums I'm in, I have an extensive & ever growing ignore list. As I'm sure there are most of that same group or type of ppl that have me on theirs. On occasion there are a few ppl on my ignore list that reply to my posts or quote me, even inquire about buying something I have listed.
I'll put it like this, they are on ignore for a reason or whole host of reasons, so IDGAF what they have to say or what they want. They stay ignored, and that's just that. Pretty simple for me.

I don't ignore anyone bc even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then. That acorn can be a nugget of wisdom I've been missing.
I agree with this...IF they are an established member, and have proven themself to be informative. There are about 20-30 people on this forum that I have learned endless amounts of info from...

But I disagree with this...if they are newer member, who provides little more than endless questions, that basically turns into "Click Bait".

And some of the questions they ask are borderline dangerous, when it comes to reloading...

Especially with powder burn rates and case capacity questions.

I just don't get it, there are several members who have quoted, or mentioned me expecting replies that will NEVER come, yet still persist after not receiving an answer…bewildering at best.

Cheers.
I hear ya, in another forum, there are 2 particular individuals that I absolutely can not stand even a tiny bit. I've had them on ignore for the better part of 4yrs & they still have not gotten the hint when they still reply to my post & I respond to every other member BUT them. And there's not even the slightest bit of temptation to see what they write. I do not care!
