I’m gonna try to hunt Racoons!

Killed one with a Bersa Thunder Pro 40 S&W HST hollow point. That was fun! Here's the Bersa.

That could be a lengthy thread all of its own...."things I've killed while sitting in a tree stand during deer season."

Having the 30-06 in hand instead of the 17 HMR wouldn't have slowed me down either. 50 Cal ML, 12 ga slug gun, 300 Wby, doesn't matter, that coon would have got it but good.
 
I maintain about 24 wood duck nesting boxes. Some of my old predator guards ( on the post below the box) were a bit too small and coons can get around them an to the nest box. They'll catch and kill the hen or make them abandon the nest and eggs. I have had them get frustrated and chew on the bottom of the nest box too.
I declared war on the coons years ago and shoot every one i see.
I also have a corn feeder out all year for the critters (deer, turkeys and ducks).
Every now and again I've been known to bushwack a coon below the feeder
Also shot the feeder spinner, but that's another story!
