Would appreciate members info for load data using Lapua Brass and BERGER 6.5(.264)140g HPBT BULLET(VLD-HUNTING) Have these components already on hand.
Not looking for barrel burning performance, just want to put this bullet choice downrange for deer down to coyote. realistically not over 600yds. in my location.
Savage Model 12 FS 1:8, 30" barrel.
Thanks in advance, Shaun

Try an oal of 3.170-3.220" or .010"-.050" off the lands, two loads with fed210m or CCI BR2 primers 48-50grn H or Imr 4350, or 51-53grns H4831sc. Two loads that are faster and accurate Fed215m or CCI 250s 55-57.5grns H1000, 57-59.5grns Retumbo. Others have good luck with 51.5-54grns RE22 or 55.5-58grns RE25. VVn160, VVn165, ramshot magnum, magpro, and MRP are good powders but sensative to temp and costly. From a 30" barrel you can get 3125fps with Retumbo and be 3-4k psi under max pressure with great charge density and like low ES and SD.
