Im not complaining, i like where i live and shoot, but there is a reason its called the coastal plains.

Amen to that... Or offhand distance. I am not proud of my offhand shooting skills, and even I can hit a 6" target at 100 yards consistently with a scope. Eyes aren't what they used to be... So open sights it's more like 8". Ok... 8-12"

sounds like some sort of distraction or breakdown of fundamentals at chip shot range . When I ran all over the country shooting archery comps, I never shot impressive scores on close courses . I tried , but just couldn't bear down like I would on long courses .My scores would be almost identical on either. Id get blown out by someone who practiced close range . Luckly , my long range course scores were good enough to make up for my close range "shortcomings" .

I still dont care to shoot 100 yd targets, but with the newer class of scopes with much closer/finer parallax adjustment. My 100 yd groups and zero are way more consistent to my long range data.
Pretty much a non issue these days.
