I just thought of something else. The tang of the action IS NOT floated, it is bedded like the rest of the action. Could this be part of the problem?

Tang should be free floated. That helps in accuracy with the Savage/Stevens actions.

Thank you! I hopefully will be borrowing a Nikon tomorrow to check and see if it is a scope problem.

Also considering buying some of this 67121 - Ammo .308 Winchester Federal Gold Medal Match 168 Grain Boat Tail Hollow Point, 2650 fps, 20 Round Box ammo. I have read that this is about the best you can buy! We'll see I hate waiting but will keep you guys updated! Thanks for all of your help!

Ya that has the possibility to do what your experiencing!!!!!!! Part of bedding a Savage is to get that tang free floated, hopefully that's as easy as it is to fix!!
