HBN Bullet Coating

I have played with it a bit.
So the short of it is. Yes it works. Does what is claimed. But for me I don't use it much anymore just for the shear time it takes.
Not so much the coating but then if you shoot a non tipped bullet. Like hammers or Berger I would not want to take game with out cleaning it from the tip. And with hammers I lose the hammer trail I love.

Snox shoots his fair share of critters. I believe him. Good points Snox

I use it. I love it. Superior in every way to naked bullets, moly, tungsten disulfide, black copper oxide (lubalox as in Winchester ballistic silver tip). It is not hydrophilic - no worries about moisture in the barrel or ammo. It does not contain any potentially acidifying and corrosive elements unlike molybdenum disulfide or tungsten disulfide. It does not burn unlike moly. In fact it's burning/melting point or the point at which it becomes chemically unstable or changeable is much higher than the melting point of the steel in your barrel.

My es and sd numbers are improved by it. My barrels need cleaning much less frequently. Haven't done a side side comparison but absolutely indications are that barrel life is improved significantly especially on overbore firebreathers like my 257 wby. I have found it possible to attain higher velocity before hitting pressure signs.

You got a link to the Napa stuff you're using?
My can looks different from photo on the link. I thought I wanted the liquid form so the pressure out the aerosol can wouldn't spatter so much. I'll take the spattering. Dries in 10 min. I checked the bore with the liquid bottle form after an hour and it was wet as water and I couldn't see the graphite in the bore. WEIRD!

Good stuff:

Don't know if same product:

I use it mostly on action rails and bolts. It sure makes the bolt slick as snot on glass.
I mix a teaspoon in rubbing Alcohol and put it on with a long cotton swab. When it dries I start working the bolt and I can feel the difference.
I tried it on barrel and bullets but could not see the difference with the equipment I have.
