Hammer Hunter Load Data, (See page 1, Post 8)

Went to range today to test some groups in my 33 nosler with h1000 and r16 running right around 2,800fps. Was getting less than expected accuracy as I shot just to realized the actions screws had loosened. They were torqued down, this time they are getting some lock tight added.

This is only usable info I did get of labradar:

Temp 75 deg. / humid

The h1000 78.5 grain:
2767 fps
2774 fps
2777 fps
2766 fps
2748 fps
2787 fps
2736 fps
2787 fps

All were loaded to 78.50 to 78.48 grains
So wasn't a difference in charge weight.

So will only be trying R16 70.5 gr. Load for groups next range trip.

Don't know if this helps but just adding as much data as possible.
Must be a common problem

Ok update to the 30-06 180 HH. This was shot in a STOCK 700 ADL Wild Turkey Federation badged rifle with stock trigger and 22" barrel. I am literally stunned by the results! I shot a 5 shot group at 100 yards that any premium barrel would be glad to get. I haven't measured it yet with caliper but is under 1/2". And what was funny, probably where it needs to be for a 200 yd zero. This was the velocity that I happen to choose and just shot fantastic! Any stock 06 that can shoot a 180 gr at 2870 without pressure is crazy.

So now thanks to Steve, I am thinking of a matching 30-06 to the .270TH!

This load is safe in my rifle. Do not assume it is safe in yours even if similar rifle. Work up your loads using safe standard reloading practices.

I think the shooter made up for the trigger....I don't think I could do it
Also, I saw you updated the load data on the spreadsheet, that was going to be my next question
Again, thanks...180HH would kill just about anything I bet

The bucks we have been lucky to kill last few years have been 200+ dressed on scale and I am believer in bigger bullet for these corn fed bruisers. Son's lease is bordered by folks that don't want to play nice cause they wanted to add this property to theirs and didn't get it. So you have to anchor them so they don't cross lines. Heck, I use my 300WM with 200AB's and they are DRT.! But now I am using 196HH and hope it works as well which I believe it will hit like lightening at 3150 fps!

I understand about neighbors,. Unfortunately I have been there. I have allways been a believer of bigger and faster, whether motorcycle or firearms. Thats why my first rifle, 40 years ago was the 300WBY! I don't have ny customs, but a collection of one model in most calibers. If I am hunting at my place, little Texas deer, just a 243. Elsewhere, I take a magnum.

Which bullet??
Have you ever considered running the 213gr Hunter. It's what I run in my 338 Lapua at 3250 fps (or it's 3205 fps, my dyslexic mind can't remember off hand which one is correct). All I know is it's super accurate and very lethal.

Sorry 260gr hammer hunters is what I been using and trying to add data, I actually message butterbean about that very bullet this evening, I will keep with the 260s for an upcoming western hunt then I want to drop down to 213 and hope to get 3,000 fps

What help do you need? I ran the 255 Sledge Hammer but liked the 213 HH better.

How deep are you seating your 213's and what neck tension? I hit pressure at 3386 out of my rum with 4955, but not the accuracy I am looking for yet (just a hair under MOA).

No real help needed still just working on loads, the 260s were just a little slower than I was looking for, for PA whitetails they won't know the difference between 260 or 213
3k should be doable, I am getting 300 fps more than the 260's in my rum. If you could get some H4350, that would be the ticket.
