Hammer Hunter Load Data, (See page 1, Post 8)

How deep are you seating your 213's and what neck tension? I hit pressure at 3386 out of my rum with 4955, but not the accuracy I am looking for yet (just a hair under MOA).

3k should be doable, I am getting 300 fps more than the 260's in my rum. If you could get some H4350, that would be the ticket.
Got a brand new 8lb of h4350

I'm also tossing around the idea of selling the Chirstensen and building a .338 Rum, My father and gunsmith runs .338 Rums. I bought the CA because at the time is was cheaper than components to build.

The difference reminds me of 30-06 to 300WM. It's not really needed but can be nice in certain circumstances

My COAL is 3.660". Neck tension is 0.002 set by a mandrel with virgin brass or after FL sizing. I can't use a Lee Crimp Die since it only comes in the larger thread diameter and I just haven't bought another press to be able to do this yet. I'm using RL26 powder, too.

And last time I looked it's $50 also, not $12 like the rest. Wonder why the 338LM FCD has to be that much bigger? I think the 338 RUM die is standard sized.

Good to know! I am going to run a ladder test with 26 tomorrow.

Lee Precision told me it was due to the size of the case and they couldn't get it to work correctly in the standard thread si

I paid $37 from midsouth and I had a large order, so I didnt have to pay shipping for it. Still three times the cost of the other ones.
Also, I use an RCBS RC press. I remove the "reducing" bushing from the press and the LEE FCD is the right size for that.

33 nosler 260 HH R-16 70.5 gr. Temp 68°

Tested over labradar with magnetic trigger
3 shot groups with barrel cooling time between groups

Shot 1 failed to read (still getting use to trigger)
Shot 2. 2,782
Shot 3. 2,772

Shot 4. 2,788 target shown in pic
Shot 5. 2,775
Shot 6. 2,795

Shot 8. 2,793
Shot 9. 2,783

Shot 10. 2,804
Shot 11. 2,778
Shot 12. 2,779

Average velocity for all 9 shots (didn't use first 3 shot group due to failure to read ) was 2,788 fps

Average SD for 9 shots (didn't use first 3 shot group due to failure to read) was 9.7

@ 9,500 feet elevation (Colorado)
1,000 yards 1,896 fps 2,100 ftlbs
300 yards. 2,500 fps 3,651 ftlbs

Expected shot distance 300 yards or less

I'm happy with that for this year's elk/ mule deer hunt

I was having one of those off range days. I'm confident this load can do better than I was shooting it today. Going to load a bunch and test out to 600 yards and possibly 1,000 yards.

I would like to give a shout out to Steve from Hammer Bullets for always quickly answering my questions. If I wasn't chasing speed this load would have came together as easy as what others are experiencing. Steve suggested R-16 where to start, I ran the ladder test backed 1.5 gr. Off pressure and got the above results.

.625" definetly could do better, I was off my game today but we all have those days right?
