Got my first coyote yesterday

I do not I have a hunting lease so I hunt on state land during their drawn hunt. This week was feral hog and coyote. I think I have been doing these hunts for about 12 years now and I have never seen a coyote. Yesterday morning something was spooking the deer and I thought it was a hog. Turned out it was this
female coyote. I shot her at 228 yards with the 6mm ARC (Hornady Precision Hunter 103's). Surprisingly it went through one side and never exited.

This is the longest kill I have so far. On the state hunts they stick you in a blind and it's luck of the draw for which blind you will get. No stalking, have to stay in the blind. This blind gave me shots out to 1000 on my left and out to 30 to my right.

I also got a 188 pound feral hog (boar) but it was only 51 yards out from teh blind.

You might try calling if you want to get more closer. An electronic call set up a few yards away should get you more opportunities.

My Seekins 6ARC is extremely accurate so I do not mind the distance. On state land being stuck in a blind wind is an issue. With South Texas weather changes it went back and forth from north to south twice. But, I think I will pick up a caller for next year. And see if I can draw some in.

Yep, the deer were eating my corn then all of them looked back into the brush. They all bolted and then the coyote came out in the open so I knew it was what they ran from. Once I killed it they came back to the corn. The guy in the blind next to me got one too, I was hoping to see more. Blinds are about 3/4 apart from each other.
