I have a Ruger M77 in 22-250 that is shot out so I'm thinking about build a plinking gun or ranch gun out of it. Probably .243 or 6 creedmoor. I'm gonna start looking for a barrel but I'm not sure of the barrel shank size on the Rugers. Can someone help me out? I think the only measurement I need to know it the shank size and then I'll know what blank to buy. Thanks

16 threads per inch but what was diameter of the barrel protruding the action. Some blanks come in 1.000and some in 1.200 shank diameter and I need to know which one I need.

I measured mine the other day and I think it's 1.160 right at the receiver face. The only barrel blanks I can find to order are 1.200? Will the 1.200 work?

Indeed it will. I did mine with a 1.220 Shank. The thing is you can turn a 1.5 shank down to what ever size you want. What length barrel are you looking to use?
