As more rifle chassis systems appear we may see that the classic rifle stock shape changing to the new chassis type stocks - particularly for long range hunting. There are many chassis now available but mainly for Remington and Savage bolt guns.
Reasons to use a rifle chassis would be:
1. more customization of stock shape (LOP, comb height, etc.)
2. foldable stocks for easier carry on a pack
3. lighter weight (maybe)
4. badassery
5. using a competition rifle/scope combo for hunting
