Fuel Tablets

I've been looking for a good fuel tablet to use on an upcoming hiking trip. Does anyone have any recommendations? What do you think about Ready Hour Fuel Tablets?

I have a small stove that I would like to heat simple meals for a couple of days

I think you are better off with some form of pocket rocket instead of fuel tabs. I personally do not like them as the smell is strong, not good if it is windy or raining and you need to heat up a meal or water for coffee. Pocket rockets do it faster.

If you're new to fuel tablets, buy a small pack of Ready Hour (or Esbit) tablets and a cheap folding stove. Try them in your backyard or on a short overnight. See if the smell/burn time/soot bothers you. It's a personal tolerance thing.

I second the Esbit tablet recommendation but you might also want to consider Trioxane tablets. I've never encountered a situation where they didn't work (come, windy, wet) well and they're very affordable via Amazon or your favorite Army Navy surplus store

Go on amazon and get yourself a BRS titanium stove, they're <$20, and I think a 200-350g gas bottle. It's much more convenient than fuel tabs, however I love fuel tabs for emergency fire starting, nothing beats a gas stove for convenience.

C4 or Semtex.
IF you can get some!
Tear off a small piece and light it.
It only burns in this form.
Actually needs a blasting cap or similar to cause an explosion.

I use esbits in mine. If you're looking for something light without the smell alcohol stoves work well too.
