This might be a shot in the dark, but does anyone know where I might be able too find some federal 215M primers? I have been looking for some for over a year now with know luck. I have tried different primer powder combs to duplicate the load I use with the 215M and just can't seem to be able to get a group to shoot as good as the 215M do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Last ones I have seen were on gunbroker and the price was $50 for a thousand. I haven't seen any locally in nearly a year. Good luck to you! If you find some message me! My supply is getting reeeaaalllyyyyy low.

I purchased my last on gunbroker as well. There are some there for 100.00 per 1000.
I think I paid about 60.00.

Good luck and shoot straight

Bob

I know of a number of guys in the same boat - they all did find some 215's and all said there was no difference in velocity or accuracy.

I have been told from a pretty reliable source the only difference between the 215 and the 215M is one additional visual inspection.

I would highly suspect that this is correct.

82, get your friends and relatives to help find them. Anyone that travels to other towns, have them check shops in small towns. My friends and I have found 210M, 215 and 215M in 1000's in several very out of the way places. They won't come to you. Good luck

I have found NO difference in accuracy, velocity or ES between 215M and 215 primers in several loads I work with. Same for 210M and 210.

I bought 215s and 210M through Cabelas by waiting on back order from December 15 to May/ June 16. I have 215M on back order through Graf & Sons as they were the only place I saw with a back order option for 215Ms. I expect a long wait. I ordered 215Ms through my local shop about 18 months ago and am still waiting so good luck if you hold out for 215Ms.

I gave up too and went with 215's. I did have a fellow at our local rock pit sell me 500 215M's and I am saving those for two of my best loads and no load development until they become available again.

I bought a copy of Bryan Litz's Modern Advancements in Long Range Shooting Volume II that was released recently. Part 2: Advanced Hand-Loading was very interesting and made me happy I bought the book. Relative to this thread, there was an interesting discussion in the chapter on Powder Measurement which indicated changing CCI primers to Federal for 300WM reduced SD muzzle velocity variation for their testing.

I still need to get to the range and confirm similar results for the 215s and my 300WM.

My local gun shop said that the pricing at their distributor has been at ~$100/1000 when they are available, which isn't often.

I would report that distributor to Federal. Because that is ridiculous price-gouging.

I can buy Federals online for around $35-37/1000, and the same for CCI's. My local store sells them for $50/1000, which I thought was high, but it was convenient at first, then I started ordering online. But a distributor charging his retailer $100/1000 is absolute insanity.
