Father & Son Idaho Elk Hunt

Congratulations to Colton and his dad in their Idaho elk hunt. The first bull was shot at 317 yards with a 6.5 PRC and the 124gr hammer hunters at just under 3300fps. It broke a rib on the way in then exited through the off shoulder. The bull stumbled 4 steps and fell over. The second bull was shot with the 181gr Hammer Hunter out of a 300 WM at just over 3000fps. That bull made it 15 yards before falling over. way to go gentleman!

I got to talk with Colton. This is a great story of him taking his aging father on his last hunt out west. It was also fun to hear the reaction of the guide when those bulls died so quickly. Particularly the one taken with the 124g Hammer Hunter from the prc.

Those bulls scored 396 and 388. Massive!

Holy cow or maybe I should say holy bull. Congratulations. Makes it extra special that it was father and son. One of my biggest hopes for them is that it isn't the last elk hunt they get to share.
