I have the Browning X Bolt Hells Canyon Long Range Max in 300 PRC
Shooting the 208 gr Barnes LRX with <.25 group @ 100yds and Hornady ELDM 208gr 1 ragged hole @ 100yds
I'm well satisfied with it.

I have factory rifles that shoot great and some that don't, factory rifles are a roll of the dice in my opinion and no telling if you will get one that will drive tacks or pattern 2" at 100 yards. I have custom rifles that all shoot great from the first shot. I think factory rifles are better than ever, Browning X-Bolt and Tikka come to mind as having good odds that they will shoot well under an inch at 100 right out of the box but with that said there is no guarantee. With a custom from a good riflesmith it's going to shoot unless he got a bad barrel. It happens but rarely.
I stopped purchasing FACTORY rifles a long time ago since all but a couple meet my expectations. The worst was a Tikka and the warranty experience was so disappointing. That is all I am going to say about that one.
Not all but most customs that are built by reputable GS will shoot along with fitting the owner if specified correctly. Yes, a bit more money initially, but a savings in the long run. Good luck on your quest.

I have everything from inexpensive factory to expensive factory and very high end customs. Top of the line Factory, like Weatherby MKV, Sako, Sauer, Mauser, Blaser, and semi-factory/custom shop like Purdy, Holland and Holland, and Taylor are great rifles, shoot well and have great customer service, while being slightly to a lot cheaper than customs. They also get a LOT more of their original price back than a custom will. Cheaper factory you tend to get what you pay for but Tikka and Vanguard/Howas have been consistently excellent rifles for pretty small dollars.
Mass produced semi customs like Fierce, Christianson etc I have zero use for. They are way over priced for what they typically deliver.
Building customs is fun if you have the budget to do it right and a top notch builder. They also tend to shoot great. Expect to keep it for life or take a big bath on resale.
