Bought a Cooper M92 in 257 Wea. Hunted with it last year and enjoyed it but I'm just tired of loading for 257 Wea. Had a M56 Excalibur 7 STW before this rifle a loved it. So I got to thinking and this is what I will have. Barrel was ordered yesterday from Red Hawk. I will have a Cooper M92 Backcountry with a Bartlein 5R 3B 27" fluted 7 STW barrel. Rifle will go from 5.75 lbs to about 6.10 lbs. Should make an awesome mountain rifle with great accuracy. I'll probably just run 139 LRX for deer and antelope and bump up to 160s for elk. Anyone interested in my old barrel it will be available. Used one season and has around 100 rounds through it.

Congrats on your 7STW, cartridge choice , there's a new member selling Remington brass for it !, just a heads up & glws of old bbl. Cheers !!!

What an awesome rifle. Had smith put micro bastard brake on and went back out today. It's a pleasure to shoot and shoots 139 LRX under half inch at 200 yds. Very pleased with Bartlein barrel.

Got a 7stw bartlein also, I'm really liking it. Running 180s @ 3189fps. Recoil seems equivalent or less than my old 300wm with 200gr pills. Bucks the wind & shoots alot flatter as well. What length & twist on your 257bbl
