Michael located this buck two days earlier but lost visual in the rain. The next day, the deer made a mistake and bedded only ten feet from his original spot. Using the new 203gr Hammer HHT, Michael lined up his 300 PRC and took a hard quartering shot at a distance of 110 yards. The deer slid down the hill 60 yards.
Michael's field report: "The bullet lodged under the hide after destroying the far front shoulder and entered the last rib. This is why I shoot Hammers; zero bloodshot meat. The exit wound was out the front shoulder, where the bullet lodged in the hide. It had about a 1.5-inch wound cavity after traveling half the body length."

And he continues to sleep! Congratulations! 👍

I'm a little disappointed that the bullet didn't exit on a deer…..but, the recovered bullet is also a pretty neat trophy! memtb
