Factory remington 700 short action 308

I've been wrong in the past, however I do not believe that Remington makes a "short action", 7mm Remington magnum; it ought to be a long action. If you have a 7mm RemMag in a short action, that is your problem. Could it be that you have a 7mm WSM??

Were did he say a 7mm RemMag short action? I see 3 rifles (LA 7mm/SA 6.5/ SA .308), same scope on all 3.

I'll check eye relief again and see if I can move the scope a bit more

I put a nightforce atacr scope on my 7MM Rem Mag and notice that every time I eject a shell it hits my windage turret and dings the neck.

You can also stick the soft side of Velcro on the knob to dampen the impact. I bought some 3m double sided tape that is rubbery so I am going to try that next.

I have had several scope knobs get hit my ejecting brass. One was bad enough it would bounce right back into the chamber. I never noticed it damaging the brass anything more than surface dings, I see more damage from it rolling off the bench.
