I currently have a 6.5x284 built on a long action (Defiance AnTi) with a Proof 7.5t 24" barrel.
I am trying to talk myself out of the need for a 7mm rifle by going to a hotter 6.5mm (shooting the Berger 153.5 LRHT)
Having difficulty trying to figure out if my barrel chamber can be properly bored out for the 6.5 Wetherby RPM.

anyone smarter than I help me out?

I see that with the 6.5x284 at the body/shoulder junction, the width measurement is .4760" and the 6.5 RPM is only .4749"... but that measurement is also taken at a longer distance. the body length on the 6.5x284 is 1.77" while the 6.5 RPM is 2.1555".... so, even though the RPM is .0011" smaller at the body/neck junction will it still work being its farther down the bore?

Let me know if my thinking is way off line too.

I am comparing these too so I dont have to invest in a new magnum bolt for my AnTi action.

Looks like it would clean up without setting the barrel back if that's the concern? That would be dependent on the current chamber and your reamer though.
